After getting fed up of his 73years prison sentence, Clauvino da Silva a Brazilian gang leader tried to escape prison with a brilliant plan by dressing up as his 19-year-old daughter.
Wearing a mask, glasses and women’s clothing, Clauvino da Silva, known as “Shorty”, attempted to flee the western part of Gericino prison last Saturday.
On the said day, His 19-year-old daughter paid him a visit as part of the planned escape, with the intention of staying in her father’s jail cell to buy him time for his escape.
The Police are looking into her possible role as an accomplice.
Da Silva was wearing a silicone mask, a long dark-haired wig, spectacles, tight jeans and a pink T-shirt with printed cartoon doughnuts, when he caught trying to flee the prison
However, it looks like his hardcore gesture couldn’t last as nervousness gave him away and he was caught in the act.
In a video and photos released by Rio’s State Secretary of Prison Administration, Clauvino was seen wearing the disguise and him removing his clothes and saying his full name.
Officials say, he will be transferred to a maximum-security prison and face disciplinary sanctions for his actions.
Da Silva was part of the leadership of the Red Command, a criminal group that controlled a large portion of drug trafficking in Rio de Janeiro and is said to be one of the most powerful groups in Brazil.
Clauvino has been in prison since 2013, when he was sentenced to 73 years and 10 months.
