Police, BNI arrest Chereponi NHIS PRO for transporting ammunition

A joint Police and Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) operation in Yendi has led to the arrest of the Public Relations Officer for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in the Chereponi District, one MOhammed Gushie for carrying ten boxes containing 250 AAA cartridges.

Confirming the arrest, the Divisional Police Commander for Yendi said they received information a Tamale-Chereponi bound bus was carrying some ammunition and acted on it.

He said they found cartridges in boxes upon a search when the bus got to Yendi barrier. The suspect is currently in police custody assisting i investigations

In this regard, a security analyst has praised the support of civilians in modern policing.
